A researcher at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is hoping to provide relief for migraine sufferers with a new red lens. Researcher Tom Prager tested a grey lens and a red lens -- both transparent, but tinted.
"I got in (this study) because I didn't believe it. I wanted to set up an experiment with an appropriate control group to show that yes, this is a possibility. Maybe it works or doesn't work," he said.
Patients reported a 35 percent reduction in pain, nausea and sensitivity to sound and light. "This could be a relatively inexpensive way to stop migraines," Prager said.
