Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) soll insbesondere gegen Rücken- und Muskelschmerzen wirken

Esquire schreibt dazu in seiner Ausgabe vom 01. Dezember 2004:

"Anyone over twenty recognizes the creaky feeling that comes from joint pain. Most of the time, you reach for the gallon drum of Aleve. Popping an anti-inflammatory makes sense, since joint pain is often caused by swelling. But there's something better out there.

What it is: A naturally occurring form of sulfur used by the body to build connective tissue and amino acids. Like so many other things, however, you may not be getting enough from your diet.

What it claims to do: Relieve joint pain and stiffness, reduce inflammation and muscle pain, aid digestion, alleviate muscle ....."

Allerdings behaupten andere Anwender, dass das Medikament generell bei Schmerzen wirken würde und auf Grund der entzündungshemmenden Wirkung auch zur Migräneprophylaxe eingesetzt werden könne.
